The BC Marble International Sculpture Association

The International Marble Sculpture Symposium is a new annual community event designed to elevate the awareness and appreciation of

BC marble, marble sculpture and public art in the Cowichan Valley.

From August 11th to September 9th, local and international sculptors will spend four weeks at the Cowichan Exhibition Park creating

public art.  Truly a community project, residents can host the artists in their homes, bring meals as they work, provide transportation, and

interact with the artists as they create.  The goal is to install these fine public sculptures in public places throughout the Cowichan Valley, maybe up and down Vancouver Island for the public to see and touch.

and at the dedication of the sculpture. The sponsor’s name is prominently displayed on a custom marble plaque that is placed with the sculpture. Interested sponsors are invited to our various events and are welcome and encouraged to participate on our committee.

Additionally, the sponsors will be prominently featured on all advertisements, promotions and highway banners.

Donations are appreciated in the form of time, money or resources. You can join with us in simple ways through our fundraisers, a sculpture sponsorship, or through a donation. The International Marble Sculpture Symposium is a community project. As a community, we need to provide housing, food and transportation for the artists when they visit. We need to raise a minimum of $10,000 each year to cover costs for each artist to come, an honorium and for materials. Consider an outright donation of time or funds or help support us through one of our fundraisers.

Monetary contributions as well as donations of goods or services are warmly welcomed and recognized equally.
