Artists Statement
Daniel Cline is a contemporary sculptor working on Vancouver Island, BC. His work in stone and more recently bronze to create works of wildlife, abstract, figurative and subjects that are rooted in traditional techniques and draw inspiration from natural world around him. Daniel is a self taught artist with the knowledge that  comes from carving stone daily for over 30 years.

"I feel a deep affinity to stone and its connection to the earth and time. I respect its enduring qualities, textures and strengths while exploring its ability to be transformed and shaped into endless forms.  My work is based
on discovering that which is unknown or unseen and bringing it into the world of the seen. Exploring that which
is universal, mysterious and challenging and sharing the discovery. The main focus of my current sculpture work
is to create powerful thoughtprovoking stone sculpture for the public sphere."

In 2017, Daniel was invited to be the “Artist in Residence”at BC Marble Products, a quarrier and producer of BC marble based products. This unique partnership, enables this artist to work with a constant selection of local marble, access to a massive diamond wire saw for profile cutting, an industrial area carving shed with power, air and water.
Together, we have the potential to take on any scale or design of marble sculpture for the public realm.
