ARTIST STATEMENT - daniel cline sculpture

Daniel Cline is a contemporary sculptor working on

Vancouver Island, BC. His work in stone and more

recently bronze to create works of wildlife,abstract,

figurative and subjects that are rooted in traditional

techniques and draw inspiration from natural world

around him. Daniel is a self taught artist with the

knowledge that  comes from carving stone daily

for over 30 years.

In 2017, Daniel was invited to be the “Artist in Residence”

at BC Marble Products, a quarrier and producer of BC Marble and  Gabriola Sandstone products based in Chemainus, BC. This unique partnership, enables this artist to take on any scale or design of marble sculpture for the public realm. Working with a constantly varying selection of local marble, access to a massive diamond wire saw for profile cutting, an industrial area carving shed with power,air and water.
